The UBC experience

Image
Hello there, Yesterday, I went to the University of British Columbia or UBC for short, to be more specific, the campus based in Vancouver, with my family. It was not very fun walking around in negative 9 degrees Celsius but we persisted on. Well, it wasn't that bad, most of the places we visited were indoor anyway and even if it was outdoor, the visit was brief and fast. Ok, enough talk, let us begin.  First, I want to talk about the Beaty's Museum of Biodiversity. What is it about? Well Biodiversity. Everything from animals to plants. Almost every single organism is presented some way or another. Some more significant than other. If you look from the outside, you'll see a big skeleton, what did it belongs to? Not a Dinosaur but a Blue Whale aka the "Biggest animal on Earth". The whole skeleton is around 80 feet long (24 meters) and it is enormous. The Blue Whale That Blue Whale skeleton originated from Prince Edward Island and travel all the way across Canada to...

Some updates regarding the blog

Hello there, It has been a while since I last posted on this blog. Truth is, I've been very busy, some main reason include: school, school and some homework but mostly school. And also some test. Not very much things happen in school but there will be a long break during winter in approximately 2 weeks so I'll see you there. For the time being, while I wait for cool things to happen, here are some books I read and I review them so you kind of have an idea. So enjoy and sincere sorry for the lack of content 1984: 1984 What you know is what the government wants you to know. They monitored you through a tv, they watched your every move. If you did something they didn’t approved, they’d show up at your house and make you disappear. After that, it would seem like you never existed. The government will be always watching and there is nothing you can do about it. 1984 is George Orwell’s future prediction of a dystopian society where the government control what you do, think, talk a...

Niagara Falls experience

Image
Hello again, My family on a 7 days trip to Toronto, the city is great, and it is quite cold here. Otherwise, it is very good in Toronto. The food taste ok, and the water is drinkable. Also, the subway system is pretty cool, highly organized and sophisticated system. Though something I would complain about is the amount and of dangerous people on the street. A random guy got pushed into the subway rail as the train was coming in and the guy died. I think the suspect was arrested. All my condolences goes to their family but we must now move on to what happened today. We went to Niagara Falls today and it was a good experience. It was pretty cool seeing the falls from the Canadian side. The falls is very big especially the Horseshoe which is the biggest of all the falls. Before I get into details, I would like to thanks our tour guide, Mr. Kaleb. He has been on this very specific tour for 12 years. He has a very recognizable accent but he use it to his advantage and use it to create laugh...

The salmon experience

Image
Hello there, I recently went to a fish hatchery with my mom and my mom's friend family to see some Salmon and other types of fishes. When I got there, there was a lot of booths in the place. Then we went to check out the actual creek and hatchery. There is a creek, just no water was to be found anywhere and there were no salmon. But the eggs are pretty cool so very nice of the hatchery.  Because of no actual salmons, off we go to Lion Park. As you might remember from last time, Lion Park is very cool and now they have fishes. Now my mom's friend family have two kids. The younger kid, name Kiet, was with us. Now, Kiet is a very energetic kid, and it's like he consumed at least 5 cups full of sugar everyday. He also likes fishing, and the river in Lion Park just so happen to currently have a lot of fish in there so that's where we went with his dad.  There were a lot of fishes in the river, like hundreds and thousands of fish, all swimming. And they are massive, two bague...

The ultimate bathroom reader review

The ultimate bathroom reader People like doing whatever when going to the bathroom for some reason. Maybe they like to distract themselves, then a quick visit to Google destroyed that reason with facts and science. Whatever the case, don’t distract yourself when going to the bathroom, it’s bad and can cause the opposite of diarrhea and make you not go to the bathroom for several day until you stop distracting yourself in the bathroom, especially on the toilet. But this book is great to read while you’re not in the bathroom, like when you’re on the couch/sofa or when you’re in bed. This book is full of facts and quiz to entertain yourself. Fun fact: the White House used to be open for public to visit and do whatever they want (as long as it’s legal). The Great Pyramid of Giza was built not by slave but by minimum wage workers. There are a lot of fun facts in the world and maybe this book will get a second installment in the future. Short and understandable easy to understand b...

Ripped from the headlines review

Ripped from the headlines. The 20 th had a lot of murders, and they all made the headlines. And comes with it a few years later was the movies adaptation. Movies based on real life murder was made to tell the stories of the events that happened. And there were a lot of them. Some are shocking stories but real stories like the “The Body Snatcher” made in 1945 tells the story about the early medicine when the only body you can dissect is body of fresh dead criminal. Body supplies demand was high but the amount coming in were low, that’s when the body snatcher strikes. They would sneak into graveyard, find one that was just buried and dig them up. Then they’ll sell it to the people at the anatomy school for money. Rinse and repeat the whole progress and suddenly, you’re rich. These body snatchers would eventually be caught and the anato...

The friend's house experience

Hello there, Recently, I got invited to a party at my friend, Akshay, house. Along with some of my other friends, we went to his house. Let me just say that, Akshay's house is absolutely massive. It looks more like a mansion and there is everything you need inside. The fridge is filled with sodas and other stuff. There were also a pool and a basement with a projector. There was also another fridge outside near the pool. And there's a slide into the pool. It's pretty much heaven except after a few moments, I realize that I'm not dead and Earth still exist. The only thing we can really do was drink sodas and eat stuff since our bags and stuff were loaded into one of my friend's mom's car. Until then, we hang out by the pool and drink. Then one of my friend, Lukas, changed into his swimsuit and cannonballed into the pool making a huge splash.  When our stuffs arrived, we changed into swimming suit and jumped in the pool. The water is surprisingly warm and pleasant...
